How are we celebrating Halloween this year?
Needless to say, Halloween has been pretty quiet for the past couple of years, especially as 2020 and 2021 were horror stories in their own unique way. However, the spooky season is back with a vengeance and with more than 850 Halloween events listed on our site, 2022 is sure to be a thrill!
We took a deep dive into our data to discover how the UK is choosing to celebrate Halloween this month compared to previous years. Read on to find out which events are on the rise and are becoming increasingly popular in our post-pandemic world.
Raves
It’s murder on the dance floor, and you better not kill the groove! This year, there are 2% more Halloween events in our database that contain the word ‘rave’. From family and kid-friendly raves to rooftop parties, that means more people are letting the power of dance infect their bones. Check out Halloween raves like the one below:
This deadly 12-hour dance music marathon is set to satisfy all of your techno, house and drum & bass needs on Halloween. With more than 30 DJs across three warehouses, an outdoor main stage, secret basement and hidden rooms, join 4,000 fellow ravers for one of the biggest monster mashes of the year.

‘Spooktaculars’
Whatever form they may take, 9% of our events are Halloween ‘spooktaculars’, and they’re definitely on the rise from previous years. Whether it’s a safari trail, bingo, cabaret show or animation workshop, we’ve got a whole host of events which are celebrating all things spooky this month. Amaze the whole family with this jaw-dropping, spooktastic show from Gandeys Circus. Their special Halloween extravaganza includes a chilling cast of skeletons, vampires and Jack O’lanterns as well as their extraordinary Circus Artistes.

Trails and Hunts
Our Halloween hunts have more than quadrupled since 2019, with 7% of our events this year promising a spine-chilling adventure. Wherever you might be off hunting this Halloween, remember to wrap up warm and take a torch — you never know what might be lurking in the shadows! Loch Lomond Scary Faerie Trail
Embark on a quest to save the faeries of Loch Lomond from the spell of the Wicked Witch, searching the mysterious woodlands to find the ingredients for a magic potion to banish the fearsome ghosts, skeletons, spiders and bats which haunt the landscape! After this fun, interactive family day out, head to the Pumpkin Patch for the perfect opportunity to get those adorable Halloween snaps.

Boat Parties
It might not be the first thing that springs to mind when you think of Halloween, but about 3% of all of our Halloween events are boat parties and that number has tripled since 2019, suggesting that it’s become an increasingly popular way to induce the heeby jeebies. Most of them are taking place on the Thames in London, offering a unique and blood-curdling way to experience the city on the spookiest night of the year.
