Day 5: Visit Brighton
Discover the festive fun going down in Brighton this Christmas:
The iconic pleasure palace plays host to the UK’s only ice rink powered exclusively by renewable energy. This sparkling day out on the ice is perfect for every age, with penguin stabilisers available for younger skaters and a beautiful location everyone will enjoy.
Christmas takes over with a series of festive stalls, live performances, and the best mulled wine in Brighton. There’s something for everyone around every corner in Brighton this year, so wrap up warm and see how much of it you can experience.
Come and see the grounds of Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens lit up with spectacular illuminations this Christmas. This winter trail is full of music, performance, and of course lights as you make your way around before ending your stay with a visit to the Christmas market.
A traditional community event in Brighton, Burning the Clocks marks the shortest day of the year. Get the whole family involved by making your own lanterns and parading them through the city to the bonfire at the beach to mark the year’s end.
The Royal Pavilion will be dressed up in all its festive splendour to welcome two talented choirs to its Music and Banqueting Rooms. Enjoy all the classic carols at this special evening, and of course a mince pie and a glass of prosecco.
This winter lantern trail returns to Wakehurst at Kew’s wild botanic garden for its ninth year. See the magical connection between colour and nature, and the role it plays in our day to day through light installations from leading artists.
Settle in for a night of festive food and award-winning comedy at Komedia’s Christmas Party. Join in on the fun with friends or colleagues, as well as partying the night away at the after party with all the biggest dancefloor anthems.
Mr Charles Dickens Presents a Christmas Carol at the Royal Pavilion
The author of the Christmas classic himself comes to the Royal Pavilion to regale us with the original performance of his tale. Imagine what it would have been like to be in the audience back in 1861 with this seasonal treat!
Bring along the whole family to visit Father Christmas in his grotto! As part of the Brighton Christmas Festival, you can get pictures with all the characters, receive a gift, and combine your grotto visit with a trip to Paradox Palace to experience some optical illusions.
We hope you have a safe and magical Christmas in Brighton, whatever you do!
